It’s hard to believe we are already winding down the first quarter of the New Year ! 2012 has rang in continued growth and much success for Florida Therapy Services, thanks to the exemplary leadership and professionalism of all our staff. Our newest locations, Pensacola and Santa Rosa are fully operational and growing rapidly. Aside from multiple commercial insurances and Medicaid, we welcomed Healthease into Escambia County in January and have participated in numerous marketing events throughout Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
I am thrilled to announce the addition of a new fulltime Psychiatrist to the FTS family. Dr Marla Michaels has joined the team from Rome, Georgia and is currently working with children, adolescents and adults in our Panama City clinic. She brings 30 years of experience in Psychiatric care and we are looking forward to sharing her wealth of knowledge.
We welcome Dr. Laurie Harden back from maternity leave to the Tallahassee and Marianna offices. We also send a BIG Congratulations to Dr. Harden , an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology diplomat in Psychiatry. Dr. Harden successfully passed her Board Certification after rigorous training. She achieved the gold standard in each of the core competencies of patient care, medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, systems-based practice, and practice-based learning and improvement to practice quality specialized medicine in Psychiatry. Way to go Dr. Harden!
In the month of February, the FTS Management staff held its annual strategic planning meeting. Organizational goals were reviewed and established for the new year (stay tuned for annual report) . A centralized theme of the meeting was the rapid growth of FTS and defining operational needs and system enhancements. A big focus of FTS this year will be the transition to Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The IT Department is busy preparing for this large endeavor and exploring many vendors to assure the best programming for FTS.
The month of March brings Spring Fever! As children and schools prepare for Spring Break and family vacations are planned, please remember to coordinate continuity in care with teachers, parents and Program Directors of any needs that may arise.
I would also like to remind you of the Brilliant Brains Program and encourage you to keep sending your ideas and suggestions. You may send them to me at sandy@flatherapy.com .
Again, many thanks for all your support and hard work!
